Poole Bridge closed at 9.30 this morning as part of its annual routine maintenance. The bridge will remain closed until 6pm on May 1st.
Residents are advised to plan alternative routes as there’s no access for vehicles, walkers or wheels, and a lifting timetable is set to be in place for boats.
The maintenance of the bridge includes resurfacing and waterproofing roads that lead up to the bridge.
The routine bridge lifting is set to resume as usual on May 2nd, until then boaters are advised by the Poole Harbour Commissioners to refer to the ‘Local Notice to Marines’ linked below.
