Bournemouth Christchurch Housing Association (BCHA) are offering Food for Life budget cooking course for free.

The ongoing cost of living crisis means prices are continuing to rise for people in BCP. To help the household budgets of those feeling the pinch, BCHA is offering its free Food for Life course.

Food for Life is a one day practical course which helps people plan, buy and cook healthy food on a low budget. The course will run for 4 weeks and will take place at Bournemouth Foodbank in Haviland Road, Boscombe on Thursday mornings from 1st May.

Each week the course makes a meal which can be shared together or with families at home. Participants will also find out how to buy food on a budget.

James, who has taken part in the course said “It’s relaxed and friendly and with everything set to become even more expensive it’s just a really helpful course for me to do.”

The course is open to all Dorset adults. Food for Life is taught by Vicky Ashley who said “The recipes are simple to follow and very adaptable – they can be meat-free and can cater to specific dietary requirements. Realising how cheaply we can shop for and cook great tasting nutritious food is empowering and a revelation to many.”
