NEWS: Children encouraged to be a flu-fighter this winter

0

Winter can be a scary season, getting dark quicker, temperatures dropping, but nothing more frightening than catching the pesky flu. But what can you do to protect yourself?

Stay Well Dorset are sharing ways to combat its effects through a nasal vaccine.

The pain-free, squirt up the nose vaccine heightens a person’s immunity against any germs or flu bacteria.

The vaccine can be used also for younger children aged two and three-years old.

This initiative is part of the Dorset School Age Immunisation Service (SAIS).

This is the routine childhood vaccinations given to children and young people from reception age to year 11 in mainstream schooling and up to age 18 in some additional needs schools.

These vaccinations are conducted within schools.

If your child misses the school vaccination, please contact the school immunisation team to book into a clinic.
