Dedicated special academy, Montacute School in Poole, received a brand new minibus from the Alliss Ferndown Charity.

Montacute School specialises in helping and supporting young people with complex learning difficulties and disabilities.

Presented at the Alliss Ferndown Charity golf day on the 5th of September, the school are over the moon about their generous donation.

Headteacher of Montacute, Ginny Bellard stated that:

“We are overwhelmed by the kindness and generosity of the Alliss Ferndown Charity and the unwavering support of both the Ferndown Golf Club and the Variety Club.

“This minibus will make a real and tangible difference to our young people, opening up a world of opportunities that will help them develop their independence and social skills, and for that we owe everyone involved a huge thank you.”

Dedicated golf members Neil and Heidi Henderson presented and personally sponsored the brand new Variety Club minibus. For years they’ve been assisting the school, and also played a vital role in fundraising for the vehicle.

Neil Henderson went on to say:

“We are thrilled to make this contribution to Montacute School in partnership with the Variety Club Golf Society. Their work is truly incredible, and we hope that this minibus will make a positive impact on the lives of all their young people.”

The Charity golf days are constantly supported by numerous local businesses. They conduct silent and public auctions where a few familiar faces have attended. The likes of former England manager Harry Redknapp, BBC Sport Commentator Steve Ryder and magician David Redfearn to name a few.

Former professional golfer, Peter Alliss established the Alliss Ferndown Charity over three decades ago, and it continues to grow and help people each year.
