Extra emergency roadworks on Barrack Road starting tomorrow will cause some disruptions until work is finished on Friday.
The area that will be affected is around Bailey Bridge Roundabout with one lane on Barrack Road being closed and both Clarendon Road and Portfield Road being closed while the work is underway. This area is notably busy and will likely see delays over the next few days until the work is finished.
Wessex Water will be carrying out the maintenance work on the roads in the area, which is linked to ongoing work nearby that started on 21 September and is scheduled to be finished by 8 December.
This sudden disruption, due to an unplanned emergency will cause increased congestion on the roads as the school runs to the nearby Christchurch Junior School and Christchurch Infant School will be affected, possibly creating further delays for anyone travelling through the area.
