LOCAL NEWS: Police investigate Sandbanks beach hut robbery

Police are asking for anyone with information to come forward after beach huts at Sandbanks were damaged and a number of items were stolen. 

The incident occurred at some point between Saturday 23 May and Sunday 24 May 2020 on Shore Road near the Jazz Café. One of the beach huts is reported to have had a door removed and a further two sustained broken windows. 

From one of the beach huts, a number of items, including a kayak, a surfboard, wetsuits, a DAB radio and a pair of binoculars were taken. A man’s XL wetsuit was later found nearby, but sentimental items that were stolen during the theft have not yet been recovered. 

Chris Hardy, a Police Community Support Investigator from Poole Police, said: “We are continuing to investigate this incident and I am keen to hear from anyone who has information about the outstanding items to please get in touch.

“I am also appealing to anyone who witnessed the beach huts being broken into, or who has any information that could assist my investigation, to contact Dorset Police.”
