LOCAL NEWS: #Eleven4Eleven – take on eleven deeds to help the bereaved

After choosing Tyler’s Friends as their charity of the year and planning a series of fundraising events, the global pandemic has meant Dorset-based Douch Family Funeral Directors has had to cancel all their plans. Now they’re asking for your help with their #Eleven4Eleven challenge.

Tyler’s Friends is a local charity that helps families who have experienced the trauma of losing a baby or child organise the funeral or memorial, supporting them through the most difficult time of their lives.

Lakeisha Douch is the 5th generation of the family-run funeral directors and was disappointed at having to cancel the anticipated fundraising events: “Tyler’s Friends is a charity that is very close to our hearts and we wanted to raise lots of money during the year.

“Unfortunately, we have had to cancel all of our events so we have launched this challenge, which we hope will encourage people to get involved. We want people to choose an activity that includes the number 11, such as running 11 miles, baking 11 cakes or creating 11 paintings.

“It would be great if people could upload their efforts onto social media, tagging us in, and using the hashtag #Eleven4Eleven.

“We are also asking, if possible, can participants make a contribution to Tyler’s Friends through the donation page on our website. The bereaved families of children have found the charity extremely helpful in the most difficult of circumstances and the demand for their services continues to grow.”

Whatever challenge you choose, share it online and ask people to donate to Tyler’s Friends in recognition of your efforts. Remember to tag Douch Family Funeral Directors on Instagram, Facebook and Twitter.
