LOCAL NEWS: PramaLife Celebrates One Stop Grant with Cream Tea

It’s smiles all round for PramaLife, a local charity that aims to support and provide opportunity for older people, after One Stop awards them a £2,000 grant from their Carriers for Causes scheme.

The scheme allows charities to apply online for a grant, normally up to £500, funded by the 5p fee for carrier bags in One Stop stores. The generous amount has allowed PramaLife to hold a cream tea for over 80 older people in the area, as well as buying new equipment for its Memory Lane, Pop In, and Sporting Memories groups, all held in Poole.

One of the group participants said: “This group is a lifeline for me and John. As his carer the group offers me emotional support and as well it’s a great source of socialising and stimulation for John.”

Chris Beale, Director of PramLife expressed his gratitude to One Stop for the generous grant: “It is really important that we can bring people together so that they can make their own friendships, share experience and support each other. One Stop is making this happen, helping lots of older people as a result.”

PramaLife offers a range of activities for older people in Poole, Bournemouth, Christchurch and east Dorset, aimed at increasing their sense of independence, self-sufficiency and dignity. It currently runs more than 55 clubs, groups and activities across Dorset.
