LOCAL NEWS: Elderly man loses only form of transport due to heartless thief

Police investigating a theft in Branksome Poole, have issued CCTV images of a man they would like to speak to.

At around 10.15 am on Tuesday 21 January 2020 a man aged in his 80s was leaving the Tesco store on Poole Road. He placed his shopping on his electric bicycle and went to return his trolley. As he returned he saw a man run toward the bike and ride off on it, along with the bag of shopping, down Poole Road in the direction of Wessex Way.

The bicycle is a black Kalkhoff Agattu 17ah, which cost £2,100 when new three years ago. 

Police Community Support Investigator Adam Cleaver, of Poole police, said: “This theft has had a huge impact on the victim as the bicycle was his main mode of transport. I would urge anyone with information as to his identity to please contact us. I would also urge anyone who may have seen a bicycle matching the description for sale in unusual circumstances to please get in touch.”
