LOCAL NEWS: Elderly lady knocked over by scooter collision

Officers in Bournemouth are currently investigating a collision involving an electric scooter and a pedestrian on the seafront.

 

They are appealing for witnesses or anyone with information to come forward. The incident occurred at Branksome Beach on Sunday 26 January 2020 shortly after 1pm.

It has been reported that an electric powered stand-up scooter has collided with, and knocked over, a 68-year-old woman from Poole. The woman was out running at the time and has been left with serious injuries. The scooter driver left the scene and did not leave any details. He has been described as having a slim build and wearing dark clothing.

Police Constable Craig Jeffery, of the traffic unit, said: “I believe there were numerous walkers in the area at the time that witnessed what happened and I am appealing for anyone who has not yet spoken to officers to come forward.

“Anyone who has information about the man involved is asked to contact police. I would also urge the scooter driver to do the right thing and contact us to help with our investigation.”
