The legendary keyboard player Rick Wakeman is bringing his own Christmas gift to Poole this year.
The musician most famously known as a member of YES and his own solo music is bringing The Grumpy Old Christmas Show to Lighthouse, Poole’s centre for the arts. The show will take place on Sunday 15 December at 7.30pm.
The evening will be full of spellbinding piano music, alongside humorous stories and insights into Rick’s long and varied career in the industry. The show will feature some of his own work with the addition of David Bowie’s early hits and even some much-loved Beatles’ songs.
Rick has promised that this will be the perfect antidote to Christmas shopping.
He said: “It’s a simple choice, Christmas concerts or traipsing round the shops – no contest, really! Seriously, it’s just so lovely to do some Christmas shows; it’s such a great time of year.”
In honour of his new show, the music artist has opted to release a new record on 29 November featuring all of the most favoured seasonal tunes.
