Officers investigating a number of thefts in Bournemouth are issuing CCTV images of two men they would like to speak to.

A man in his 20s reported that his wallet and mobile phone were stolen while he was in the area of Old Christchurch Road in the early hours of Wednesday 4 September 2019. An attempt was made to use his bank card at around 5.20am at the Esso garage on Bath Hill.

Later that day, at around 1pm, a woman in her 20s also reported that her mobile phone was stolen after she dropped it in a public waiting area of Bournemouth Town Hall.

A man in his 20s reported that between 4am and 5am on Saturday 7 September he had left his jacket containing his phone and wallet somewhere in Old Christchurch Road. He claims the cards were subsequently used to make a number of contactless transactions at the Esso garage on Bath Hill and at Grooms newsagents in Lansdowne Road.

Police Community Support Investigator Martin Young, of Dorset Police, said: “We are investigating these incidents and from our enquiries we do believe they could be linked.

“As part of our investigation, we have obtained CCTV images from the stores where the cards were used and I would ask anyone who recognises the men pictured to please contacts us.”
