According to research by the Road safety charity Brake, cyclists and motorcyclists account for nearly four in 10 of all deaths and serious injuries on British roads.
This half term, Bikeability are offering cycle training at Kings Park Cycle Centre for children aged 10 and over. They are offering a two-day course combined of two levels. The first day consists of mastering the controls of a bike, before taking to the roads on the second day.
The course is completely free due to funding from the Department of Transport. The instructors are all fully qualified to the National Standard and are DBS checked and first aid trained.
The training aims to provide children with the ability and confidence to cycle on today’s roads safely. There are requirements that your child must meet before being signed up to join. Some include being able to ride a bike one handed, going to school in Bournemouth and owning their own bike and helmet.
