The legendary Philadelphia vocal group, The Stylistics, will tour the UK later this year, celebrating over 50 years since they first formed.
The group had an impressive consecutive 12 songs in the ‘Top Ten’ in the 1970s and will be at Bournemouth Pavilion on 9th November. Special guests, The Sounds of The Supremes, featuring former Supreme Kaaren Ragland will be joining the S for selected dates only
Known as pioneers of the Philadelphia Soul scene, The Stylistics, who on this UK tour will be led by original members Airrion Love and Herb Murrell, formed in 1968, and went onto incredible chart success in the 1970’s.
The band soundtracked an era with hits like ‘You Make Me Feel Brand New’, Break Up to Make Up’, ‘Stop, Look, Listen’, ‘You Are Everything’, and many more. Friends since junior high school, Herb and Airrion have continued to keep their institution of 70’s music alive.
Kaaren Ragland joined The Supremes in the mid-70s and racked up an incredible 30 Top 40 hits with the group. Joined by 2 other former Supremes Kathy Merrick & Althea Burkhalter, the trio continue to celebrate the legacy of the hugely influential group as The Sounds of The Supremes.
A rare chance to see two pioneering groups of R&B in one place, The Stylistics joined by The Sounds of The Supremes is surely the most soulful show to hit these shores this year.
