BUSINESS: The Big Bang Dorset Fair needs local businesses

0

Coming to Bovington Tank Museum in 2020, Big Bang programme is looking for 40 Dorset based businesses/organisations to take part and exhibit.

The Big Bang Near Me is a programme of regional and local Big Bang Fairs that take place all across the UK. Together with The Big Bang UK Young Scientists & Engineers Fair and The Big Bang Competition, it forms part of the wider Big Bang programme, bringing science, technology, engineering and maths (STEM) to life for young people.

The importance of running a fair in Dorset is evident with the UK needing many more scientists and engineers; equipping young people with skills in science, technology, engineering and maths is key to their future employability.

Students attending a Near Me Fair are said to really enjoy themselves too – with nine out of ten rating the event they attended as “good” or “very good” according to information from Big Bang.

More than 160,000 students and over 900 employers visited regional and local Fairs in 2017/18.

The Big Bang Near Me Fairs are full of hands-on activities, interactive workshops, exciting theatre shows and opportunities to talk to scientists and engineers from local and national companies all over the UK.

For visitors to the events, the fair’s are free to attend but usually tickets are booked in advance.

Some of The Fairs also host the regional heats of The Big Bang UK Young Scientists & Engineers Competition, the UK’s top STEM competition for young people. Finalists get to display their projects at The Big Bang Fair each March.
