Bournemouth beach beat off stiff competition to come in third in the ‘UK’s most Instagrammable beaches’ rankings.
It came third with 1.4m hashtags, beating 17th placed Poole by over 1m.
Brighton and Plymouth were the only places to beat Bournemouth boasting 5.7m and 1.5m hashtags respectively.
The rankings were created by HomeToGo, the world’s largest holiday rental search engine.
In order to find the most Instagrammable beach they first made a shortlist of the 100 UK beaches most searched on their platform between 1 June 2018 and 31 May 2019.
They then whittled down this shortlist by ranking them by number of Instagram hashtags.
Joanna Booth, Head of Inbound Marketing said: “We’re seeing more and more British travellers choosing domestic beach holidays this year, and since the UK has so much stunning coastline they are spoilt for choice.
“With its traditional beach huts and miles of sandy beaches, Bournemouth is undoubtedly one of the UK’s most beautiful seaside towns, and clearly visitors agree with their photos.”

Here we are on the beach itself, soaking up the sun and getting amongst it.
Inner Wes Anderson was channelled for this shot. Other than being photogenic Lifeguards play an important role on busy days like today.
Beach huts line Bournemouth’s miles of prom. There is something aesthetically pleasing about the identical huts.
