Dorset-based theatre company Dramatic Productions return to Wimborne’s Tivoli Theatre with a new summer season of plays from 25 July to 10 August.
There will be a new play each week over the course of the Wimborne Rep season:
- 25 July to 27 July – A Bunch of Amateurs: The season kicks off with Ian Hislop and Nick Newman’s comedy. Washed up Hollywood star Jefferson Steele arrives in Stratford, only to find it is not the birthplace of the Bard but a sleepy Suffolk village.
- 1 August to 3 August – Rising Damp: This is a stage adaption of the British sitcom of the same name. Student Alan moves into a new flat only to find it already inhabited by an African prince – but his presence is the least of Alan’s worries!
- 8 August to 10 August – Love From a Stranger: An edge-of-your-seat thriller from the pen of Agatha Christie. A whirlwind romance with a charming stranger sweeps Cecily Harrington off her feet, but after moving with him to a remote country cottage she finds out her new love is not all that it seems.
Tracy Murrey, Artistic Director of Dramatic Productions, has lined up a cast featuring some of Dorset’s finest acting talent: “We’re keen to showcase some of our much-loved, local professional actors so expect to see the wonderful Julia Savill, Russell Biles, Celia Muir and Mark Freestone amongst other familiar faces.
“We’re all delighted to be returning to the beautiful Tivoli Theatre for this extended summer season.
“The Tivoli Theatre is our summer home and performing there is the highlight of our year; it’s a beautiful, historic theatre much loved by the community.
“Dramatic Productions feel privileged to be returning to the Tivoli for the seventh year in row.
“We can’t wait to be working with their wonderful staff and volunteers again.”
