Anne-Marie’s ‘Speak your Mind’ tour arrives at the O2, Bournemouth

The long awaited arrival of Anne-Marie to Bournemouth arrived recently at the O2 in Boscombe, featuring Lennon Stella. Marking her biggest headline shows to date, the run will also include stop-offs in London at the Eventim Apollo on 12 and 13 June, as Anne Marie’s popularity grows on an almost daily basis.

And what a fantastic sell-out night in Bournemouth it was!

Lennon Stella opened the show and warmed the crowd up well for Anne-Marie to make her entrance. And when she did, the crowd went wild! She is clearly loved by people of all ages, given the age range and types of people attending – all types were there from a few senior citizens through to couples with children and of course the majority of her twenty and thirty something followers.

She performed some new and old songs, including the much-loved (and much played on the radio) number one hit “Rockabye” and “2002”. There was also a very special song called “Ciao Adios”, that she wrote when she found out her ex-boyfriend was cheating on her.  She confided in the crowd that every time she sings it, she still gets angry. Fortunately for us, she held it together and delivered a faultless performance.

She interacted with the audience well throughout the whole show making everyone feel they were part of something very special and intimate, She even picked a fan to sing “Rockabye” with her, taking over the parts that Sean Paul would normally sing. That lucky person even got a hug from her. Unfortunately I wasn’t close enough to the front.

Her debut studio album Speak Your Mind was recently released on 27 April 2018, and peaked at number three on the UK Albums Chart. She was nominated for no less than four awards at the 2019 Brit Awards, including Best British Female Solo Artist.

The verdict on the night

Overall, Anne-Marie is a strong artist with all the hallmarks that suggest she is here to stay for a long time to come. All of her songs obviously mean so much to her and it clearly shows by the way she shares the stories behind them. This tour is unmissable for any Anne-Marie fans. We would definitely recommend seeing her if you get the chance.

You can find details of her other tour dates here (but be aware that many dates are already sell-outs)
