Ringwood Road between Poole Lane to Bear Cross northbound has been closed.
A major pressurised water mains has burst, leaving it necessary to close the road to do essential repairs.
It is likely that the road will remain closed over the weekend due to the extent of the work required.
The southbound lane is currently unaffected.
