WHAT’S ON: Christmas in Poole

The most wonderful time of the year begins on Poole High Street on Thursday November 29, kicking off with a host of free, family-friendly events in Falkland Square, from 11am until 7:30pm.

Poole’s Christmas kick-off

5:45pm, Thursday November 29

The Christmas lights will be switched on by The Worshipful Mayor of Poole, Councillor Sean Gabriel, alongside Dick Whittington pantomime stars and special guests.

11am until 7pm, Friday November 30

Live entertainment and Christmas classics outside the Dolphin Shopping Centre.

Saturday December 1

Day of children’s entertainment, face painting, games, activities, magic shows, and live performance by Professor Bubblewubble.

11am, Sunday December 2

Santa will arrive at Poole Quay by boat (courtesy of City Cruises), after which the Santa Parade will lead through the town to Falkland Square. Santa will be joined in his sleigh by a host of VIP guests! Other stars of the parade include The Dolphin Marching Band, Shining Bright Like A Star, and children from the Old Town Infant School and Nursery. Don your fancy dress and join in!

12pm until 3pm

Step back in time at Scaplen’s Court, and enjoy historical crafts for all ages.

Visitors can also enjoy a giant Christmas snow globe, and cosy outdoor seating area.

Sainsburys plaza. There will be a seating area with patio heaters and blankets, and refreshments will be available to buy from the Christmas themed vintage van.

Free parking Christmas tree tied to a camper van

Available in all Borough of Poole car parks in the town centre at the following times:

  • Thursdays, 6pm until 9pm (from Thursday November 29 onward)
  • Sundays, 10am until 6pm (from Sunday December 2 onward)

Free park and ride service

morebus will be running a free park and ride service between Creekmoor Park and Ride site and Dolphin Shopping Centre every 15 minutes, from 8am until 6pm.
