FUNDRAISING: Fun run set to celebrate Dorset Blind Association’s 100th Anniversary

0

The Bright for Sight Night Run is coming to Boscombe seafront on Saturday 15th September. It’s the third time the Dorset Blind Association is hosting this event, which is sponsored by Parley Optometrists.

The fun run is open to entrants of all ages and abilities. With an option of taking the 5k or 10k route, participants can go at their own pace. Less seasoned runners needn’t worry – you can walk the course if you prefer.

The only requirement is that you bring glow sticks, neon clothes or paint – anything bright and loud!

The night will start off with a Clubbercise warm-up led by Emma from Zumba Fitness and Clubbercise Wareham and Bournemouth.

Dorset Blind Association are encouraging runners to raise sponsorship to show their support. The charity has been supporting individuals living with sight loss since 2018. The number of people living with visual impairment in Dorset alone is due to hit 35,000, meaning the charity’s services are more vital than ever.

Helena Sinclair, events fundraiser at Dorset Blind Association says:

“We are so excited to light up Boscombe seafront this year as we celebrate our 100th Anniversary. We can’t wait to welcome lots of glowing runners and hope to make this the most successful run yet. A great way to support a local charity whilst having fun with friends and family!”
