ARTS: Augustus John: Drawn from Life exhibition

In the first three decades of the twentieth century Augustus John was widely considered one of the greatest living British artists, famous for both his Bohemian lifestyle and his stunning portraits, etchings and drawings.

Exhibiting at Poole Museum from 26 May 2018, Augustus John: Drawn from Life is an exclusive exhibition that will re-examine the life and work of this significant, but increasingly overlooked, British artist. From his early self portraits to his daily life scenes and beautiful landscapes from his time in Dorset, the exhibition will showcase 60 extraordinary pieces of art that have never been brought together before.

This major new exhibition is co-curated by the writer and art historian David Boyd Haycock and is organised in partnership with The Salisbury Museum

The exhibition will be open 7 days a week and entry is free.
