Recounting the life of Eva Perón, Argentina’s First Lady, Tim Rice and Andrew Lloyd Webber’s award-winning show captivated its audience from the very first minute.

Dublin-born opera singer, Lucy O’Byrne, shone as Eva, with vocals so dazzling my goosebumps had goosebumps. The entire production was a slick visual feast that boasted innovative set design, seamless choreography, and beautiful costumes.

Ché (Glenn Carter) served as the show’s narrator, injecting context and moments of humour, as well as delivering the show’s powerful closing line.

The bold lighting and exquisite set worked together flawlessly to transport us into Eva’s world, from the humble beginnings to the dizzying heights of her success – and everything in between.

Verdict

Visually sublime with a stunning soundtrack and talented cast, Evita is a spellbinding ride from start to finish.
