For their 10th anniversary, the Australian Ocean Film Festival is visiting the BCP area this Autumn.

Immerse yourself into multiple ocean-themed films that capture life above and below the water. Celebrating the beauty of our oceans and with the goal to remind everyone how precious they are, these short films will inspire and inform.

Film festival founder, Jemima Robinson promotes that they started the project to,

“not only inspire the world to explore and enjoy our oceans, but also to protect and respect them.”

Additionally, she expresses that with her passion towards film and all things ocean, she wanted to create an environment where people could come together to celebrate Mother Nature.

Shown in the screening there are a range of captivating short films. With some examples being Broken Breath, shown in the image above, Bluetits and The Custodians. Also, with each screening, free prize giveaways take place where you win ocean-themed goods. Visit their website to read more about the selected films.

With the film festival originating in Australia, over the last 10 years they have shown their passion in 14 countries. They have displayed the work of 89 independent filmmakers worldwide, giving them an audience and a platform. And if showing the world how much we need to protect our waters  wasn’t enough, they have donated over £21,000 to ocean charities.
