A woman in her 40s has sadly passed away after being hit by a car that fled the scene.

At around 1.35pm on Saturday 23 October, Dorset Police were notified by the ambulance service about a situation on Suffolk road where a woman had been hit by a car, which they believed to be a black Audi A4. The woman received life-threatening injuries and was rushed to hospital for medical treatment, however she tragically passed away in hospital on Tuesday 26 October.

The black Audi was later seen and stopped in the Northamptonshire area early on Sunday morning. A 39-year old man from Derby was arrested by police for attempted murder alongside a 41-year old woman who they believe was assisting him. However, the charge for the man has been changed to suspected murder and the woman has currently been released as the investigation and enquiries continue.

Detective Inspector Wayne Seymour, of MCIT, said: “Our investigation is ongoing and I would continue to urge any witnesses or motorists who may have captured anything of relevance on dashcam to please get in touch. ”
