LOCAL NEWS: Don’t be fooled by new Test & Trace Scam

0

A number of individuals have been contacted recently by someone claiming to be part of the NHS Test and Trace service.

The individuals reported that the person contacted them by telephone and after claiming to be part of the service, informed them they had been in contact with a confirmed coronavirus patient. They then asked for their address and their card details to cover the cost of sending them an at-home testing kit.

The NHS Test and Trace service is completely free. If a member of the service contacts you, they will not ask you for personal information or any details relating to your bank account. Instead, they will provide you with a unique ID number that will enable you to log into the NHS England Test and Trace website.

Once you have logged into the website, you will be asked to provide specific personal information, which will be covered by the Data Protection Act.
