LOCAL NEWS: Dog Walking Restrictions Relaxed on BCP Beaches

0

Dog walkers in the BCP area are rejoicing today after Vikki Slade announced an extension to the permitted access period for dog walkers on beaches in Bournemouth, Poole and Christchurch.

Under normal regulations, walking your dog on a local beach is not permitted after 1 May, as the towns prepare for the influx of summer tourists. However, taking the current situation with regard to the coronavirus pandemic into account, the council has confirmed that dog walkers may continue using the beaches until 22 May 2020.

However, during this period, dogs must remain on a lead at all times.

The council will review the situation again on 22 May and decide whether to continue allowing dog walkers on the beaches or to reinstate the ban, depending upon government announcements around that time.
