TRAVEL: Further road closures in Townside, Poole

0

BCP Council has confirmed road closures from Monday 23 March to Sunday 26 March 2020, as work begins on the third phase of works to improve Townside and Hunger Hill in Poole.

West Street and West Quay Road will be closed between Bay Hog Lane and Poole Bridge, with road users being diverted by the Twin Sails Bridge so that essential road resurfacing can be carried out. The lifting schedule for the bridge has been revised for the week to limit traffic disruption while the diversion is in place.

In a further effort to reduce traffic problems, the work has been scheduled to tie in with the annual maintenance schedule of Poole Bridge, which will be closed from 6am on Monday 23 March until 6am on Monday 30 March.

Access will still be available to pedestrians and cyclists throughout the work.

A BCP Council spokesperson has urged road users to plan ahead for the diversions and ensure they allow extra time for travel while the work takes place, using public transport, cycling or walking instead where possible.
