It’s been revealed that there are several two and three year old children in Dorset that still haven’t had vaccination against the flu.
The message to parents of these children is: Don’t delay and contact your local GP to receive a free flu vaccine for your child.
The NHS offers children’s vaccination against the flu as a yearly nasal spray. The vaccine is available free on the NHS for eligible children, including children aged two and three, all primary school children and children aged two to seventeen with long-term health conditions.
The flu can be a very unpleasant virus for children which can lead to more serious conditions such as bronchitis and pneumonia. Symptoms of the flu can include sudden high fever, sore throat, headaches and more. But this can be avoided with the flu vaccine.
