BUSINESS: Christmas jumper day to raise vital funds for STARS Dorset

0

STARS Dorset is asking Dorset businesses to hold a Christmas Jumper Day to help raise funds for the charity.

In the run up to Christmas, the charity is asking businesses to choose a day when their employees can wear a Christmas jumper. They can pay anything from £1 and the much-needed funds will be spent specifically on the work the charity does with children and young people across the county.

Sexual Trauma and Recovery Services (STARS Dorset) is a charity that offers one to one support, free of charge, for anyone in Dorset who has experienced any form of sexual violence in their lives.

STARS will provide money tins and leaflets for any businesses taking part and the final total can be donated to the charity through their website,  Facebook Donate, via a cheque or a BACS transfer.

Several different types of support are provided by STARS including an Independent Sexual Violence Advisor Service, one to one counselling, a Children and Young People’s Service and a Helpline. All their services are free and for that reason, the charity rely heavily on community donations.

If your business would like to get involved or needs any further information email STARS Dorset

Anyone who has been affected by sexual violence and would like confidential advice and support can call the STARS Helpline on 01202 308855 or visit their website.
