Dedicate a Light to a loved one and honour their memory at Bournemouth’s biggest memorial event.
Light Up the Prom are returning to Dorset this year on Friday 8 November at 7.30pm. The event is being organized by Bournemouth Hospital Charity with a collaboration from Macmillan Caring Locally. Families and friends can purchase a light in memory of a loved one for just £5 and dedicate their name into the Book of Light before coming together on the Bournemouth Pier Approach for a magical evening of memories.
The night will feature a two-minute silent reflection as hundreds of lights illuminate the prom. Pains Fireworks will also be putting on a dazzling fireworks display. There is set to be musical entertainment provided by Funky Little Choir Co, Dorset’s largest contemporary choir.
Bournemouth Hospital Charity Events Officer, Becca Kellaway, said: “Light Up the Prom is a beautiful way for us all to remember the special people who touched our lives and come together as a community.
“We invite people of all ages to shine their lights with us under a dazzling display of fireworks at this wonderful event.”
Proceeds from Light Up the Prom will be shared between Bournemouth Hospital Charity and Macmillan Caring Locally, who support the Macmillan Unit at Christchurch Hospital. The money raised at Light Up the Prom will be used to provide new equipment, training and improvements to the hospital.
