HEALTH: Royal Bournemouth Hospital open day returns!

The Royal Bournemouth and Christchurch hospital are holding their annual open day on Saturday 19 October 2019.

The event will be the held at The Royal Bournemouth Hospital site from 10am to 3pm. Over 1000 people visited the event last year and this year is hoping to be bigger and better than ever. 

This years event will see visitors going behind the scenes in theatres, take part in quizzes and competitions and find out more about what it’s like to work for the NHS.

Also during the day will be CPR demonstrations and details on what to do if someone is choking aswell as the plans for the proposed developments on the three different hospital sites being on show in the Oasis Cafe. The equipment and machines used and how these and other exercises can prevent injuries will be on show in the physiotherapy gym. 

Visitors will get the chance to have their own health checks

Visitors will be able to have health checks such as blood pressure checks, eye tests for both children and adults, respiratory tests and weight and height checks. The emergency services area will also be back with the police and fire service attending and the Safe Bus returning as well. The Decontamination Tent that is used during major incidents will also be available for visitors to see and find out about.
