LOCAL NEWS: Take a visit to the bra bank this autumn

0

Breast cancer research charity Against Breast Cancer are opening their doors for you to donate your unwanted bras to help raise vital funds for pioneering breast cancer research.

Your unwanted bras will not only contribute towards life-changing research for 30 million women here in the UK, but will also help to support many people in Africa.

Against Breast Cancer work with recycling partners to give your unloved bras a new lease of life in developing countries like Togo, Ghana and Kenya where bras remain too expensive to produce.

Projects like these help to keep families in developing countries out of poverty and also provide employment for many people all over the UK.

Whether you want to send your bra by post, or drop it to a local bra bank, your donations will be given to people in these countries to wear, and if they can’t be worn, Against Breast Cancer will receive £700 per tonne of bras collected.

Having a bra bank at your place of work could also make a huge difference whilst getting your local community involved in something life-changing.

By doing this, people can easily donate their bras through you, making the process easier and quicker for willing donors.

You can find a local bra bank near Bournemouth University’s Talbot Campus and Castlepoint. For more information on donating your bra, or hosting a bra bank, click here
