Leading operator of leisure and event venues, BH Live, is starting a brand new scheme for three talented graduates.

The scheme will initially be piloted in Dorset across Bournemouth International Centre, Littledown Centre and Bournemouth Pavillion.

From Autumn, three successful graduates will take part in a practical two-year training and development course. This will focus on leisure services, events and hospitality in the third sector.

A competitive salary will be on offer, as well as a combination of vocational and in house training to support their professional development.

Teresa Beckingham, BH Live’s Head of Human Resources, said: “This is an amazing opportunity for ambitious graduates who want to have a fulfilling career in the social enterprise sector.

“As well as getting lots of hands on experience, they will also learn how we put our profits to good purpose, getting more people active, experiencing cultural events and supporting our local economy.

“Each graduate enrolled on the scheme will undertake a structured and intensive learning programme starting at a basic level and working towards supervisory responsibilities.”

Key areas of focus will include customer service, housekeeping, delivering recreational activities, event management and hospitality services.

Time will also be spent with BH Live’s corporate and support services such as HR. sales, marketing and facilities management.

Teresa added: “In Dorset, our higher education partners, including Bournemouth University and Arts University Bournemouth, are already attracting brilliant talent into the region.

“We wanted to make sure we were bringing that talent into our organisation and what we think is an incredible industry to be part of.”

Following a successful pilot, BHLive will look to expand the scheme across Hampshire and London.
