Christchurch High Street and Bargates are set to receive new litter bins later this month.
Christchurch Borough Council is teaming up with the Dorset Waste Partnership, to replace the current bins with larger, wheelie-style bins. These new bins (pictured above) will also boast animal-proof lids.
Though fewer in numbers, the new bins will be positioned more prominently, and will reduce the need for bin bags and liners. It’s estimated that collectively, the bins will increase waste capacity in the High Street and Bargates by 20%.
The replacement work will begin on 27th August, and is set to be completed by mid-September.
