Aspire Adoption has had a very successful first year of operation since its launch in July 2017. Created to provide adoption and special guardianship services across Bournemouth, Poole and wider Dorset, since its inception Aspire Adoption has helped a total of 70 children find their new families.

In 2015, the government pledged that by 2020, all local authority adoption services should be merged with others, to form Regional Adoption Agencies. Aspire was one of the first fully operational Regional Adoption Agencies, and remains one of only ten currently operating nationally.
Aspire is also responsible for assessing and approving adoptive families, and has set up more consistent support services across the region. In their second year, they are looking to approve a further 60 families.
