LEISURE: ‘Voices of the future’ photographic exhibition to open

Redefining ageing in BCP – local residents take over Patch for new photo exhibition on Thursday the 26th of February at 11am.

The voices of the future exhibition showcases the lives of local residents between the ages of 60-75, the younger-older generation. The exhibition will feature powerful visual stories from residents on staying positive and connected.

The exhibition is the culmination of locally led research by the Community Action Network (CAN) and BCP Council Adult Social Care. Staff from both organisations will be represented at the exhibition. In our community, essential charities and community groups are often overlooked and underappreciated, whilst they drown in a sea of paperwork, forcing them to spend less time helping people.

Development Lead at Community Action Network,  Samantha Bingham, said: “By listening to our younger-older population, we’ve uncovered what makes a difference to their wellbeing. These stories and findings from the research are already influencing BCP Council strategy, ensuring that as our population ages, our community support grows with them.”

The exhibition will be up for only one day from 11am to 12pm, it will be held in Patch on the 1st floor of Bobbys in town centre.
