Dorset & Somerset Air Ambulance charity are holding a fundraising event; the Seaside Scramble. Taking place on Saturday the 9th of May at Baiter Park, Poole.
A 5K bouncy air ambulance themed obstacle course will see participants run, crawl and scramble through the course to claim victory. The event promises plenty of laughter and possibly a few muddy knees and is designed for people of all ages and abilities. Organisers expect demand to be high so booking in advance is advised.
The funds go towards keeping the rescue team in action – each mission the ambulance is called out to costs roughly £3,500. In the last year they have gone on nearly 3,000 missions, nearly half of which are responding to trauma related incidents. They not only use the helicopter they also have outreach cars to provide enhanced care. They are currently looking to raise £1 million to fit out a second helicopter.
