University Hospital Dorset is inviting people to give their views on their new MRI and CT scanning facility which is close to Poole Hospital and replaces the Shaftesbury House building on Shaftesbury Road. The new modern scanning facility will allow patients to be seen sooner, reducing waiting times for scans.

Matthew Benbow, CT and MRI Service Manager, said: “We’re incredibly excited about the plans for this new facility and the potential further investment going into the Poole Hospital site.”

There are two events that have been organised to showcase the design options for the facilities so the public and staff can give feedback:

  • Wednesday 11 February 5-7pm – Poole Hospital Education Centre.
  • Thursday 12 February 11.30am-1.30pm – Poole Hospital Dome – opposite Boots

Those unable to attend and curious about the plans are welcome to email uhd.consultation.poolescanners@nhs.net

The feedback from the public will be considered when making final decisions about the look of the building. The consultation will be running until the 15 February. Subject to planning, it is hoped that the building will be open to patients by the end of the year.
