A man has been jailed following an investigation by the Neighbourhood Crime Team following two distraction burglaries in Dorset.
38 year-old Aaron Carl Winzar was sentenced at Winchester Crown Court on Thursday 20th November to four years and eight months in prison. 
On Tuesday 26 August 2025, Winzar knocked on the door of a 91-year-old woman in the area of Wimborne Road in Bournemouth and told her he was there to measure her bathroom. He was allowed to enter the address, where he stole £400 in cash before leaving.
Then, on Thursday 4 September 2025, Winzar knocked on the door of a 68-year-old woman in the area of Victoria Road in Wimborne and told her he was working for a housing agency. While in the property, he stole £3,500 in cash as well as €500
Winzar was identified as a result of CCTV enquiries and was arrested on Wednesday 10 September 2025, before being charged with two counts of dwelling burglary.
He pleaded guilty to the charges.
Police Constable Ryan Greenwell, of Dorset Police, said, “We hope this demonstrates that our team is dedicated to pursuing criminality and ensuring burglars are held to account for their offending.”
