LOCAL NEWS: Witnesses sought after collision involving a teenage cyclist in Bournemouth

Police are looking for witnesses to a hit-and-run collision with a teenage cyclist on Christchurch Road in Bournemouth on 9 September 2020. 

The accident occurred at around 8.20pm on Wednesday 9 September on Christchurch Road in Bournemouth, at the junction with Colemore Road. The cyclist – a 14 year-old boy – was moving in the direction of the Iford Roundabout when he was knocked off his bike in a collision with the car. 

Following the accident the boy was taken to hospital and treated for a broken wrist and a concussion. 

The car has been described as a dark-coloured BMW, with a registration number that may start with HF56. 

Police Constable Mike Burt, of the traffic unit, said: “We are making enquiries into this collision and are keen to identify the driver of the vehicle involved.

“I would appeal to any witnesses or anyone who may have relevant dashcam footage to please come forward.

“I would also appeal to the driver involved if they see this appeal to contact us so we can take your account.”
