LOCAL NEWS: Murder investigation launched after man dies following assault in Bournemouth

Police have launched a murder investigation into the stabbing of a man in Westbourne on Friday 19 June 2020, and are asking anyone with information to come forward. 

The ambulance service alerted police to the incident at 2.20am on Friday 19 June 2020, in which a 46 year-old man sustained stab injuries. Despite the best efforts of the ambulance service, the man died at the scene. 

A woman in her 40s and a teenage boy, both from Bournemouth, were taken to hospital with injuries following the incident. Their conditions are not reported to be life-threatening. 

Police arrested a 31 year-old man from Bournemouth on suspicion of murder, and he was also taken to hospital with injuries, which are not life-threatening.

Police have launched a full investigation into the incident and are asking for anyone with information to come forward. 

Detective Inspector Andy Bell, of Dorset Police, said: “We are carrying out a thorough investigation to establish the full circumstances of what happened.

“I would like to hear from anyone who may have any information to assist my investigation.”
