NEWS: Police called to firearm incident in Winton

Dorset Police are investigating reports of a man carrying a possible firearm in Winton.

Last night police responded to reports of a disturbance outside of the BBQ express on Wimborne Road, and a man carrying a possible firearm. The man was allegedly threatening three people who have yet to be identified by the police. Police Constable Tara Pressley CID, said: “I would urge these individuals to come forward so we can take their account of what happened”

The suspect, a local 18-year-old man, left the scene and was stopped by officers. Police found cannabis on him and a BB gun was located nearby. He was arrested on suspicion of possessing an imitation firearm with the intent to cause fear of violence, affray and possession of a class B drug. 

Police Constable Pressley, said: “We are continuing to investigate this incident and are keen to hear from anyone who witnessed the incident.”
