Morebus are encouraging car drivers to take the bus on Clean Air Day this Thursday.
Morebus is marking Clean Air Day – Thursday 19th June – by offering discounted travel to people living in and visiting the region.
The local bus operator is offering passengers 10 percent off the cost of a Dayrider ticket – encouraging them to leave their cars at home for the day and catch the bus instead.
“Morebus is committed to helping improve the quality of air we breathe here, and we have been working on this in a number of ways – including investing in a new fleet of greener vehicles,” said Morebus head of communications, Nikki Honer.
“Bus travel has changed beyond recognition over recent years, and those who haven’t travelled with us recently will be amazed at the enhancements we’ve made.
“Our new buses are more frequent and the seating on-board is extremely comfortable. The vehicles also feature ‘next stop’ audio and visual announcements, as well as ‘tap on, tap off, ticketing technology.
“We hope our Clean Air Day offer encourages more people to take the bus. If we can convert some car users, it could make a huge difference to the local environment in the long term, as well as helping ease the area’s congestion issues.”
Anyone keen to give up their car for the day and take advantage of 10 percent off all-day bus travel on Clean Air Day, can buy their ticket via the Morebus app using the code CAD2025.
