NEWS: Arsonists destroy Parkstone Playground

A fire was started at a children’s play area in Poole leading to the police releasing an appeal for CCTV footage of the area.

On Sunday 23 January police were alerted at 2:20am to a fire that had started at the children’s play area at Alexandra Park in Parkstone, the fire had caused substantial damage to the children’s play equipment and the police believe that it had been started deliberately.

Police Constable Demar Rowe, of Poole police, said:

“We have received reports that four people were seen to leave the park shortly after the incident and I would please ask anyone with home CCTV systems in that area to please check their footage and contact us if they find anything that may assist our investigation.”

The investigation is underway with police hoping to hear from anyone who has information on this act of vandalism and assuring the public that local police teams will be aware of this incident and can be approached with concerns that may arise.
