NEWS: Elderly man mugged in Boscombe ends up in hospital

An elderly man that was assaulted during a mugging in Boscombe has ended up in hospital, sparking a police investigation.

On Thursday 9 September at around 1pm, an elderly man was walking in an underground car park on Wolverton Road when he was approached by a masked man and woman. The man was holding a crowbar which he then used to hit the elderly man before stealing some cash from his wallet and quickly leaving through a fire exit door in the car park onto Christchurch Road.

The elderly man was taken to hospital to treat the injuries to his hands and face while detectives are looking into the robbery and have issued an appeal for any witnesses to get in contact and assist the investigation.

The man is described as white, five feet ten inches tall, of average build and was wearing a dark-coloured lightweight jacket and dark-coloured jogging bottoms. The woman is described as approximately five feet six inches tall, of average build and was wearing a dark-coloured top and bottoms. They both wore masks during the attack and kept their faces hidden.
