The Paul Cornes Fund has been created with the Dorset Community Foundation and will be used to provide support for older people battling fuel poverty, and young people in education.

Paul held a fondness for Dorset, and after his passing his partner, Tom Flood, with the support of friends and other loved ones, established the fund as a way to honour his memory while helping others. It will support projects designed to tackle disadvantages, create more opportunities, and improve the lives of those in need across Dorset.

Initially, the fund will focus on education for young people and helping older people living with fuel poverty, providing grants through the Dorset Community Foundation’s Bursary Scheme and its Surviving Winter Fund. In time, they hope the fund will expand to support other local projects.

Paul’s partner Tom, said: “I’m so pleased that the fund set up in memory of Paul will help us
direct funding to some wonderful projects and bring hope and joy to many. I am delighted Dorset
Community Foundation can help in this wonderful way, removing the red-tape and allowing me to
focus on what mattered to Paul – helping people.”

Dorset Community Foundation Director Grant Robson, added: “We are thrilled to be establishing this new charitable fund in memory of Paul and helping his positivity and enthusiasm endure, making a significant
impact locally and where the need is most.”

The foundation aims to connect people wishing to make donations to causes that matter most to them, providing much-needed charitable funds to a variety of individuals, families, companies, trusts and government departments.
