LEISURE: Lighthouse, Poole returns next month with Lighthouse: OUTSIDE

0

Six months after closing their doors to the public in the wake of COVID-19, Lighthouse, Poole is back with a short programme of outdoor performances, ranging from a magician to Shakespeare performed on bicycles.

The new programme offers something for audiences of different ages and interests, with all performances taking place in the ampitheatre to the side of the Lighthouse, with limited seating in a large area, to enable proper social distancing for audience members, staff and performers.

The events will take place across four dates in September and October:

Saturday 19th September

2pm: Comedy Club 4 Kids. A swear-free show that will bring all the best belly-laughs to children and parents alike.

7pm: Live and Unheard. Musical performances from some of the best insigned, original talent out there. Headlining the show are Mischa & His Merry Men, supported by Chris Payne and Becoming Branches.

Saturday 26th September

2pm: Ben Hart’s 2-Metre Magic Show. The Britain’s Got Talent finalist will amaze and astound audiences with his unique and entertaining brand of magic.

7pm: Coastal Comedy. Presented by Adrienne Coles and headlined by Mock the Week and Live at the Apollo, award-winning comedienne Angela Barnes, this is a must-see event. Also featuring the hilarious rising star Luke Honnoraty and the brilliant and charming Sunjai Arif.

Saturday 3rd October

11am: Cloudscapes. A sound installation by Lighthouse Associate Lorna Rees. A series of 6 cloud-gazing duologue sessions sure to open your eyes and your mind.

7pm: Olly Olsson (and support). An incredibly talented singer/songwriter, Olly has been linked with Lighthouse, Poole for some time and is returning to perform old favourites and new material for fans and new listeners alike.

Saturday 10th October

1pm: Gnora the Gnome’s Daytime Disco. The first of two performances from The Handlebards, the world’s first cycling theatre company, this show is ideal for young children.

4pm: Romeo and Juliet. The Handlebards turn their ‘seriously silly’ attention to a Shakespearean classic in this evening performance.

For more information and to book your tickets for any of these fantastic shows, visit the Lighthouse, Poole website. Book early – there are only 100 tickets available for each performance. The shows will be moved indoors in the event of bad weather.
