BUSINESS: Online events to help the food industry thrive after lockdown

The Federation of Small Businesses (FSB) has organised a series of South West Food Industry Support events, starting on Monday 22 June 2020, to help small food businesses find their feet and thrive once they are given the green light to reopen.

If you run a small business in the food industry, you may well have questions about how to get your business back up and running after lockdown ends. Now, a series of free events can help you get answers to your questions and make sure your business has the best chance to succeed.

The events will feature a number of special guests, starting with Bournemouth’s very own award-winning Curry Queen, Sarah Ali Choudhury, on Monday at 2.30pm with ‘Going back to business after lockdown’. Sarah and a number of other business experts will be on-hand to answer any questions you might have about re-opening your premises and organising social distancing, to help you move forward without breaking vital guidelines.

Sarah was one of the youngest Asian women to manage an Indian restaurant and her simple but flavourful Indian recipes have led to features in local, national and international media. She now runs a catering business and is Policy Leader for Food with the FSB. Sarah said: “I’m delighted to be on the panel to answer questions about opening food businesses after lockdown.

“I think they will be really useful in helping to build restaurant owners’ confidence after lockdown and easing everyone back into a new normal.”

This first event will be followed by two more over the following week:

  • Making the most of your food business – Thursday 25 June 2020 at 1pm.
  • Maximising potential for your food business – Tuesday 30 June 2020 at 2.30pm.

Please make sure you arrive at least 10 minutes before the start of the event.
