LOCAL NEWS: Police searching for man who threatened store staff with knife

Police are hunting a man who stole money from the till of a Bournemouth convenience store after threatening staff with a knife on 18 June 2020. 

The incident occurred shortly before 6.49pm on Thursday 18 June 2020. A man walked into Central Convenience Store in Cunningham Crescent in Bournemouth, approached staff behind the till and threatened them with a knife. He then grabbed money from the till and walked out. 

Officers who attended the scene were unable to find the man, despite a thorough search. 

Detective Constable Sam Knight from Bournemouth CID, said:“This must have been a very distressing incident for staff at the store and we have launched a full investigation to identify the man responsible.

“We have obtained CCTV images of the suspect. I appreciate they are not great quality and his face is partially covered, but I would urge anyone who may recognise him from the clothes he is wearing and his build to please contact us.

“I am also appealing to anyone who witnessed any suspicious activity in the area yesterday evening to come forward.”
